To give you an idea of my size when you're viewing my photos, I'm 5'5" tall and my "street size" is 8 or 10. My tops are split between small and medium, my dresses are mostly medium and my pant size is 8-10. Here are some guidelines on the fit and sizing of our styles.
Unless I state otherwise, our styles fit
true to size (TTS) and you can choose to size up or down depending on
the look you're going for. What does TTS mean? When you shop at Target,
what size do you grab? That's your true size. Sometimes you'll wear a
different size depending on the style or cut and that happens with Agnes
& Dora too.
Most of our products are true to size. My "street size" of 8-10 puts me at a medium on our size chart but both my A&D and non-A&D wardrobe is split between small and medium. I consider both small and medium my true size.
To lessen the confusion, my size recommendations will be according to the chart on the right. This means medium is my starting point and the size I wear unless I state otherwise.
The Live In Skirt is so comfy and I can live in it every day. The ponte fabric is dressy enough for the office and can also be worn with a tank for a more casual style. The solids are made of stiffer ponte and I wear a medium but the prints are made of a softer, stretchier ponte so I wear a small in those.
The Everyday Tee is supposed to fit the same as the Essential Tank but for me, the armhole is too high so even though I wear small in the Essential Tank, the medium Everyday Tee is more comfortable for me.
There are two long sleeve versions: 1) a thicker ribbed fabric that is soft and "fuzzy", with thumb holes. The thumb hole is an amazing feature that I love for keeping my hands warm. I can wear a small or medium but prefer the small; and 2) rayon modal spandex that I prefer in medium so the arms aren't so snug.
I can wear a small or medium in the Hi-Lo Tunic but prefer the small to lessen the amount of fabric under my arms. The arms don't feel tighter in the small compared to the medium.
The Tall Hi-Lo fits just like the regular but is longer. It's made for taller ladies but will be true tunic length for shorter ladies who want more coverage in front and back.
Our Swing Tunic should be a closet staple. Wear with your leggings or a pair of jeans. Some of them are long enough to wear as a dress, and of course will also depend on your height. This tunic has pockets which is so awesome!
Layer it with our Slip Dress underneath for a little flair at the bottom and more length.
A lot of customers like to size down but I like the medium.
To me, the Fit & Flare Dress (formerly the Fisher Dress) runs small and a little short. I own a couple of mediums but have finally become comfortable with the idea that fit is more important than what the tag says so now I wear a large for a better fit and extra length. If you have a large chest, I recommend sizing up.
Another option for extra length is layering with a Slip Dress underneath.
The Maxi Dress (formerly the Austen Dress) is a floor length dress and fits the same as our popular Essential Midi Dress. The lengths of these vary so I recommend asking for measurements but don't let that stop you from buying since these are hard to find.
I also have one tall version for those 5'9" and taller but if you love the print, you can always alter the length.
These Knit Jeggings are made of stretchy denim.. If you're very curvy you should stay TTS, otherwise, I recommend sizing down one. The cuff isn't sewn down so it can be unrolled or rolled more depending on your height. The second edition added pockets.
The 3rd edition has a thin elastic in the waistband and fits TTS.
The older style Pullovers are combination sizes and if you're on the lower end of the size range I recommend sizing down unless you like the over-sized look. The M/L is a little big on me and the sleeves reach the tip of my fingers. The XS/S fits me perfectly.
The newer style Pullovers are single sized and fit more TTS and I wear medium.
This is a great layering piece and the colors coordinate well with our dresses and tops.
